January 10, 2003 At reader recommend added a link to a great-looking site on Crusades by a Professor of Medieval History at Cardiff U. in the UK. This will serve as our response to "sins of the church" accusations on the Crusades. Pay particular attention to the questions, "Were the Crusades necessary?" and "How can you justify the Crusades, as Christianity is a pacifist religion?" I do not know if this is a Christian's site so I do not necessarily endorse all that is on it.
